Devotional: Perfect Peace
"Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you." 2 Thessalonians 3:16
Managing our time has been one of the biggest things we all struggle with; who gets the most time, what gets the most time, what's a priority, and what can wait are all challenges we face. This often leaves us anxious, unsettled and overwhelmed.
When you are anxious, constantly worrying, and under or overwhelmed, you are not living in the peace of God. His yoke is light - the bible says (Matthew 11:29). The word also says casts your cares on him, for he cares for you. In what areas of your life could you lay your burdens down? We are all guilty of holding onto something too tight in fear of losing control, but this disrupts our peace.
One of the promises from God is he will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast because those minds trust in him (Isaiah 26:3).
Today, let's meditate on peace.
Questions to ponder:
When was the last time you felt safe in God's arms?
What is destroying your inner peace? What practices are helping you build your inner peace?
When was the last time you had to relinquish control? How did that make you feel?
What does perfect peace look like to you?
When was the last time you said, "Lord, I trust you?" and really meant it?
