Seed of Identity
Many people say, "The day you plant the seed is not the same day you receive the harvest." I believe you must first identify what type of seed you want to plant- this will give you a vision for the harvest you will sow.
This is about the seed of identity and discovery.
God said, "Before I formed you, I knew you." The prophecy alone should be enough to seek God every day to discover what He saw in us before we were in seed form. Our Creator identifies us as "wonderful and fearfully made". He says we are "more than conquerors" in Psalms 18:35, David says "You make your saving help my shield, and your right hand sustains me; your help has made me great." God has longed identified us as his children, as blessed, as favored, as warriors and as free but yet many of us have yet to accept this identity for our lives.
It is easy to accept the world's view on who we are supposed to be. It is easy to accept the definition of what others say about us when it's all that we've heard all of our lives. We are easily influenced to believe that we have limits, that as women, specifically, we have to conform to be blessed or accepted. That standing tall in whatever we believe in is a crime. We're often labeled because we know what we want. And take advantage of when we're still figuring it all out. The world says because she has high standards, she'll never marry or look at her age. She should just let go of her dreams, or we're defined by statistics. The world says, look at her; she is weak because she's exploring her options in whatever way they can't define. It's a cruel world- especially if we allow our identity to be rooted in it.
Our identities should be rooted in who God says we are. We have no limits. We are loved and protected. We have God's favor on us. We do not need to stand down if we're not accepted. We should behave boldly. When I see my sisters, and I mean every woman when I say sisters, when I see us dimming our lights, being inferior, defensive, being abused, my heartaches. Because that is not our identity.
We must discover and replant our seeds for our identity. We have the authority to stop watering the old seeds of identity that kept our spirits captive, bound, shackled, limited, insecure, isolated, powerless, sad, broke, and destitute. People are rooting for you, sis. Other women are fighting in prayer for you to discover who you are really in Christ. Other women are willing to light the trail to greatness for you and watch you win passionately and genuinely.
No more dimming. No more limits. Plant a new seed of identity- water it daily with truth, healing, and light, and do not be afraid to write a new story for yourself. You are who God says you are- undoubtedly so; no sin or mistake will change that. Dig deep today, sow your new identity seed, and discover who God sees you as His loved child.
I stand with you. I believe in you. Shine Bright Queen.
"You search the Scriptures because you think they give you eternal life. But the scriptures point to me! Yet you refuse to come to me to receive this life." John 5:39-40.
