In due season

You will reap in due season.

I love doing things for other people. It is truly my love language to give. I learned early to give without expecting anything back. I've followed that principle, but naturally, there are some hard realizations. I'll be honest: I wrestled with reciprocity over the years, especially when I had relationships with takers. I'd feel empty and unseen because I kept pouring and pouring and felt like nothing was coming back, not even consideration.

But God, in the last few months especially, I have learned the true meaning of Galatians 6:9: I will reap if I do not give up. The kindness and generosity of others in this season currently fill me with immense gratitude, and it shows me God has always seen my heart and intentions when I feel depleted. I might've not reaped then, but I am reaping now. I can see it so clearly because only God could place me in the hearts of others like he has. And I am thankful.

My message is this: keep going, keep giving, keep sowing. Even when it's hard, and you don't feel like the people receiving are deserving, keep loving purely. God sees it all, and when you don't give up, you will reap plenty of harvest. Reconcile your heart by doing what God told you to do, and He will take care of the rest. Trust him.
